About Us

Aussie Tech Head was the brainchild of Glenn Goodman, who was an avid listener to America's Leo LaPorte and his popular technology podcasts on iTunes. Glenn was determined to create an Australian Made version of a similar technology podcast dedicated to the Australian Public. Coming from a background in computers, Glenn thought it would be a natural progression into his newly chosen field. Around the same time Glenn was embarking on the AUSSIE TECH HEAD project, his old school friend and colleague Mark Saltzer    happened to mention that he too was delving into the wonderful world of podcasting. Glenn asked Mark if he would be interested in co-hosting a new show dedicated to enlightening the Aussie Public on the new technology entering our shores. Mark enthusiastically agreed and on Sunday the 10th of September, 2006 the two of them in conjunction with The Secret Hub production studio, produced and uploaded the first episode of Aussie Tech Head.

Mark nagged Glenn into submitting Aussie Tech Head to iTunes to see if they would approve it for their online Music Store. Like a true Aussie Battler Glenn worked tirelessly to unravel the secrets of getting a Podcast onto the iTunes Music Store. Two weeks after the first episode was uploaded ATH was approved and within 24 hours it was accessible on the iTunes Music Store. At first the only way you could find ATH in iTunes was to type Aussie into the Search Field and go through the list of iTunes Podcasts with Aussie in the title.

4 weeks later and 6 episodes into the series, finding ATH on iTunes was no longer an issue, the guys had entered the NEW & NOTABLE section of the iTunes Podcast Library by debuting at number 26 on the main podcast chart and number 3 on the technology podcast chart. Glenn couldn't believe that his new show was now sitting amongst the same podcasts that inspired him. Things were looking up and four days later the show hit the number 1 position on the technology chart and entered the top 20 on the main chart. Since then the show has performed strong in the Technology Chart and is consistent in the top 100 in the main chart. Home grown and growing strong!

Currently Mark is taking it easy and relaxing and taking a break from the pressures of pocasting!  He does come on frm time to time to give us updates of what's been going on in his world.

Glenn is joined by varying guests from week to week now.
